Stepping Out with Constable Taina

Constable Taina came and taught us how to cross the road safely.
We learnt a lot and we have become very good at crossing the road safely, even Constable Taina said so!
We need to make sure our feet our behind the kerb.
We need to look left and right and left and right and listen for cars before we cross the road.
We don't cross the road until the cars stop for us
We look left and right as we cross the road
We look down sneaky driveways

Pow Words

We are learning to use Pow Words in our writing. Pow words make our writing more interesting. Today we wrote about storms because our big book is about a storm.  Here is some of our work.

The storm is wet. The storm is scary. I don't like the storm. I wasn't too scared because I had my teddy bear. - Jeremy

The storm is frightening. The storm is blue. I see a storm and the storm is cool. The storm is wet and the storm is hot. I hear the storm. - Moana

I heard the storm. The storm is cool because it's scary and the storm was scary. Boooom! THe thunder is scary. - Talyn

The storm is dark. I see a storm and I see a big bright storm. - Opeti

We have really enjoyed learning about hockey and we have gotten very good at holding our sticks and keeping them on the ground. We don't lift them up because we might hurt someone.

The firefighters showed us all their cool equipment.

Then we got to go in the fire truck!

If there is a fire we know to go to the meeting place and call 111

Tuakana/Teina Day

In Room 2, with the help from our buddy class, we made Olympic medals, to support the up coming Olympics.

Also, we had a newspaper challenge. We got into groups and had to make a costume out of newspaper. The model had to be able to walk in the outfit without it breaking. The groups that won were Pauliasi and Jorjah, who both received prizes. We had a lot of fun today and would like to thank our Buddy class for helping us.
