Micheal and Wesley built a hole tunnel. They dug right to the bottom of the sandpit. They worked together as a team because they are friends.

Discoveries and thier Impact

This term our inquiry is around

'Discoveries and their Impact'

We have started by learning about scientists and what they do.... we are all very excited because we are ALL scientists!

Every week we are going to do an experiment, today our focus was on

 

'What is a Hypothesis?'

We now know that a 'Hypothesis' is making a guess as a scientist.

We are good at ART!!!

We are really good at art in Room 2.

Today we had Mrs Manuyag come and teach us how to smudge when using pastels.

We did SUCH good work because we listened well and we didn't rush our work.

Tupac and Tūpeke

Mrs Kelly has a baby bunny at home called Tupac.

One day she brought him into our class instead of Tūpeke to see if we would notice...

and we did!

We did some writing about Tupac being Tūpeke's friend...

We have been learning how to use the technology in our class.

We now know how to take a screen shot on the iPad.

We can use a screen shot to show our learning, capture our writing and record progress in a game.

We like MUSIC

In Room 2 we absolutely love going to the music room to learn how to play the ukulele's and bucket drums.

Mrs Vercoe loves how well we listen there and how well we follow instructions (even when she doesn't use her voice!!).

We are learning to throw and catch a small ball

We are about to start learning Baseball in our Kiwisport time, so for PE this week we started to practice our throwing and catching skills.

We had lots of smiles and laughs as we tried throwing and catching the balls different ways, and we even saw if we could hit a target at distance.... Mrs Vercoe!

The Start of Week 3 of Term 1

It's amazing how many photos can be taken in  a day!

Today we have been beginning to look at how we take a good photo (and video) with an iPad, when Mrs Vercoe looked through them she was amazed at all the ones that were blog quality!!!

Great team work here!! Terell and Leon-Lebron worked together to order  sentence.

Mrs Vercoe was very proud of Michael getting his work done all on his own!

Lopiseni worked so hard and quietly that Mrs Vercoe was very impressed when he told her that he was finished!

Today Terell and his reading group were learning the word 'come'.

We finished our art so quickly that we even had some time to go into the music room for a short music lesson. Mrs Vercoe is very proud of us because we always have our best listening ears on the the music room!

Our first week at School for 2014

We have had a great week getting to know each other and beginning our new learning.

We like having some new and some old faces in our class!
