Terell + Tūpeke!

Today was the first day of term 3, and we have 2 new boys in our class!

First we would like to introduce Terell. He can already count up to 6 and loves meeting new people. We're looking forward to some awesome learning this year with him!

The second new boy in our class is Tūpeke!
In Māori Tūpeke means 'Jump' or 'Leap' which we though was good for our rabbit.
He has settled right into Room 2.
Today we were learning how to make sure he settles well into our class, and not to scare him.

We found out that he likes broccoli leaves and freshly picked grass!

Tūpeke is a good explorer!

Tūpeke likes getting nice pats

YUM!

Elijah likes being a nice friend to Tūpeke.

Calais took a photo of Tūpeke being brave and adventuring out.
We picked some yummy grass for him.

Tupeke! What an awesome name for a rabbit. I look forward to following his adventures. I might have to introduce him to my purple rabbit, "Rugged Rufus Ramsbottom".

Oh you are so lucky to have a rabbit Room 2.
We think Tupeke looks very cute. We love his name. We liked all the photos and seeing Tupeke eating in his hutch.
What does Tupeke do during reading and writing? Katie wonders if that's when Tupeke has a little rest.
We think you will be kind to your rabbit.

Hi Andrew,

Tūpeke likes having lots of adventures. He is always exploring around out classroom and yesterday we took him outside. He liked being able to eat fresh grass.
We think your rabbit has a funny name. Is he a real rabbit or a toy?

Hi Room 5!

We think Tūpeke is very cute too.
Sometimes Tūpeke explores our classroom during reading and writing, and some times he stretches out in his hutch which means he is having a rest.

Tupeke looks nice and cute. We wondered if he likes to eat carrots. E6 are eating carrots today in class!! You are very lucky to have a rabbit in class. Who looks after Tupeke in the weekends?

Hi Mrs Hay and E6!

Tupeke likes the green tops of carrots more than he likes the orange part of the carrot that we like! But he still eats them too.

When we're not at school Tupeke lives with Mrs Kelly our DP, he had a lot of fun in the holidays visiting people with her!

Hope you have had a great start to term 4.
